We take our role as environmental stewards seriously and have underpinned our beliefs and values with our unique partnership with Planet Ark and ongoing membership with the Green Building Council of Australia. BINGO is proud to support community based local programs aimed at sustaining the local environment.

Planet Ark

Planet Ark founded in 1992, is Australia’s most-trusted environmental organisation. Their aim is to work with people and businesses to teach them the simple ways in which they can reduce their impact on the planet: at home, at work and in the community.

BINGO has worked with Planet Ark for over 10 years to support their initiatives. Planet Ark also work with the BINGO business to help shape our sustainability strategy and activities. Our partnership with Planet Ark makes BINGO unique in the recycling industry and ensures our leadership continues well into the future of recycled waste management.

The Australian Circular Economy Hub (ACE Hub)
Launched in 2020 by Planet Ark and supported by the Federal Government, the Australian Circular Economy Hub or ACE Hub, is Australia’s first nationally-coordinated circular economy platform.
 
Modelled after leading international initiatives, the ACE hub acts as a one-stop-shop for circular economy inspiration, education and implementation in Australia and facilitates the collaboration necessary to transition to a circular economy.

Green Building Council of Australia

Launched in 2002, the GBCA is a national, not-for-profit organisation that is committed to developing a sustainable property industry for Australia by encouraging the adoption of green building practices. It is uniquely supported by both industry and governments across the country.

Green Star
BINGO is a member of the GBCA and supports their mission of developing a sustainable property industry for Australia. BINGO recognises the importance of reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill and has successfully completed many Green Star projects.

The Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia

The Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia (ISCA) is a member-based, not-for-profit peak body operating in Australia and New Zealand with the purpose of enabling sustainability outcomes in infrastructure. ISCA maintains the IS Rating Scheme (IS) which is the only comprehensive rating system in Australia and New Zealand for evaluating sustainability across the planning, design, construction and operational phases of infrastructure programs, projects, networks and assets.

BINGO is proud to be a member of ISCA and a recommended service provider on ISCA’s ISupply platform. The ISupply platform links products and services to IS credits, assisting infrastructure delivery agencies in achieving their IS rating. WMRR

The Waste Management and Resource Recovery Association of Australia (WMRR) is a national peak body for the waste and resource recovery industry.  WMRR membership covers the entire spectrum of the industry including landfill, recycling and resource recovery, energy from waste, e-waste, organics, construction and demolition, commercial and industrial, hazardous and biohazardous waste sectors.

Members range from large multinational corporations, SMEs, local and state governments, equipment and service providers, and individuals. WMRR’s activities include advocacy, conferences and networking events, high value information, learning and training. BINGO has been a member of WMRR for over 10 years.

WCRA

The Waste Contractors and Recyclers Association of NSW (WCRA) is a registered industrial body of employers that address business issues relating to the waste and recycling industry on behalf of its constituent Members.

WCRA is registered with both the Industrial Relations Commission of NSW and Fair Work Commission and provides Members with advice and support in a broad range of employment and industrial relations matters. BINGO has been involved with WCRA for several years and a BINGO representative sits on the WCRA’s Board.

ACOR

Established in 1983, the Australian Council of Recycling (ACOR) is the leading national industry association for the recycling and resource recovery sector in Australia. It represents some 50 businesses who are part of a successful $15 billion industry that employs some 50,000 Australians, and generates exceptional environmental benefits for our society. The aim of ACOR is the industry advancement of the broader resource recovery and recycling sector, a key part of the circular economy. BINGO has been involved with WCRA for several years and a BINGO representative sits on the WCRA’s Board.

Social Traders

Social Traders specialise in brokering relationships between social enterprises and business and government buyers. They assist businesses and governments in targeting spend to maximise social outcomes, while also providing certification and support for social enterprises.

BINGO engages with Social Traders to assist in designing a targeted social procurement program and connecting with diverse and underrepresented suppliers.

BCSD

The Business Council for Sustainable Development Australia (BCSD Australia) is the national peak body representing forward-thinking companies and organisations that are working towards the transition to a sustainable Australia. BCSDA’s mission is to accelerate this transition by making sustainable business more successful.

BCSDA are the Australian partner of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). Previously known as Sustainable Business Australia. BCSDA members come from all sectors and industries, representing more than 150,000 employees across Australia.

BINGO participates annually in the BCSDA’s Reporting Matters project, which assist in further improving non-financial reporting performance and helps BINGO to refine its sustainability strategy.

Supply Chain Sustainability School

The Supply Chain Sustainability School of Australia is a not-for-profit initiative that aims to create more sustainable supply chains for the property, construction and infrastructure industries in Australia. Launched in 2015, The Supply Chain Sustainability School is provides a free learning environment, upskilling for those working within, or aspiring to work within, the built environment sector.

BINGO has attained a Silver Supply Chain Sustainability School membership and is currently working towards a Gold membership.

The RE100 is a global initiative bringing together the world’s most influential businesses committed to achieving 100% renewable electricity. Led by the Climate Group and in partnership with CDP, the RE100’s mission is to accelerate change towards zero carbon grids at scale.

BINGO is proud to be a member of the RE100 and has committed to achieving 100% renewable electricity across the group’s network of facilities by 2025.
