BINGO’s trucks among the safest on our roads

At BINGO, we are committed to operating our business in a way that keeps our people and communities safe from harm. We are always looking for ways to improve safety, aligned with our Zero Harm framework and BE SAFE value.

One area of focus is the safety of our BINGO trucks and road safety awareness amongst our drivers.

BINGO has approximately 470 heavy vehicle drivers on the roads who’ve all received an extensive induction, and continue to receive ongoing training in safety and driving operations. Pre-starts and end of day vehicle checks, fault logging, fatigue management and hazard logging are completed daily through our own mobile app, amongst other risk mitigating tools.

We have also implemented strict PPE requirements, drug and alcohol testing, periodic heavy vehicle medical checks (age dependant) and an employee assistance program (EAP) to assist with driver wellbeing.

BINGO’s truck safety features

In addition to your standard safety features, all BINGO trucks are equipped with DriveCam technology which uses machine vision and artificial intelligence to detect, analyse and curb distracted driver behaviours through the use of a coaching platform. Real time audio and visual alerts also help drivers to self-correct.

They are also equipped with handbrake alarms, pedestrian sensors, rear and rear-facing side cameras, blind spot alarms and mirrors, and left turn alarms. And all trucks carry spill kits, first aid kits, and two fire extinguishers.

BINGO has a range of other systems and processes in place too, including National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme (NHVAS), Maintenance Accreditation and Heavy Vehicle National Law Certification to help manage our Chain of Responsibility (CoR) compliance for each component of CoR (restraint, dimension, fatigue, maintenance, mass and speed).

All these initiatives and programs, together with toolbox talks and safety alerts, have contributed to a positive increase in safety awareness and safety behaviours across the fleet.

Keeping safety front of mind and providing our drivers with industry-leading tools to operate, is something BINGO will continue to invest in as part of our journey towards Zero Harm.

The images below further explain all safety features on our trucks, making them some of the safest on our roads.
