BINGO becomes major sponsor of Circular Economy Accelerator Boomerang Labs

BINGO has become a major sponsor of Australia’s first circular economy accelerator program delivered by Boomerang Labs.

Australia is in need of innovative solutions to help reduce the amount of waste that ends up in our landfills.
Boomerang labs accelerator program is designed to provide critical capacity building support for start-ups and entrepreneurs working on new circular economy solutions that are designed to reduce the amount of waste going into Australian landfills.

Run over six-months, the program supports talented founders to launch their start-ups and grow these into sustainable businesses supported by a network of industry mentors.

Tara Osborne, BINGO's General Manager of Strategy and Innovation said the sponsorship aligns with BINGO's vision and business strategy for a waste free Australia.

“Here at BINGO, we see waste materials differently to many other businesses. We see opportunities to preserve value, create new products and build a thriving circular economy. We see the wonder in waste, but we are only one part of the solution,” she said.

“This program is really exciting because it acknowledges that great ideas and innovations often happen at the fringe, not necessarily in big business.”

“By partnering larger, established companies with start-up founders, the program will help build founder’s business skills, help them secure capital and commercialise their ideas so these can be delivered at scale for communities sooner,” Tara said.

As part of the accelerator program, BINGO leaders like Tara and Head of Sustainability Nik Comito will be working with founders to develop business-critical skills, sharing valuable knowledge of the recycling industry through a range of workshops, one-on-one support and learning modules.
This initiative is one of several projects currently being undertaken by BINGO’s Innovation Hub.
