BINGO is thrilled to have been shortlisted three awards at the 2023 Waste Innovation & Recycling Awards.
Congratulations to Ros Dent, Head of Environment Operations, and Shiloh Ainuu, Operational Excellence Manager, on being finalists for the Waste & Innovation Awards. Ros is a finalist for the Woman of Waste Award and Shiloh for the Young Professional of the Year Award.
The Woman of Waste Award recognises a woman in the industry who has driven change and continues to do so, leading to progress in breaking down barriers and creating new career prospects for the next generation.
The Young Professional of the Year Award is given to an individual aged 35 years or younger at the date of nominations closing, who has impressed their colleagues and counterparts with their contribution and impact to their organisation, and excellence in service.
BINGO’s Material Processing Centre 2 (MPC2) is also a finalist for Outstanding Facility of the Year Award. The Award is given to a new infrastructure project that commenced operating in 2021 or 2022.
MPC2 is a state-of-the-art recycling facility in Eastern Creek, helping BINGO achieve industry leading waste recovery rates and enabling more diversion of waste from landfill.
It’s fitted with some of the world’s most advanced resource recovery technology, and the plant is capable of processing approximately 1.5 million tonnes per annum and up to 7,000 tonnes of inert B&D and C&I material daily.
MPC2 is situated in BINGO’s Eastern Creek Recycling Ecology Park in Western Sydney, and plays a key role in capturing recoverable materials which would have been otherwise lost to landfill. It’s making a positive impact aligned with the objectives of a circular economy - resources are circulated, waste is eliminated, and nature is regenerated.
The winners will be announced on Wednesday 25 October. See all finalists here.
