BINGO partners with ReDirect Recycling for engineered timber offtake

BINGO has entered an agreement with ReDirect Recycling to supply waste engineered timber to Australian Panels to be utilised in particleboard manufacturing.

Australian Panels is a leading manufacturer of melamine panels and components for kitchen cabinets and joinery in Australia. Engineered boards are made from pine logs and recycled timber, recovered from construction and demolition waste.

“This offtake represents an important milestone in diversion of engineered timber waste from landfill, which brings us another step closer to achieving our vision of a waste free Australia,” said Brad Searle, acting Chief Growth Officer at BINGO.

“By increasing diversion of waste from landfill through beneficial reuse, we are also reducing the reliance on virgin natural materials and delivering a truly circular outcome.

“This is a great example of how industries can work together to achieve sustainable business outcomes and accelerate the transition to a circular economy.

“We look forward to working with ReDirect Recycling on this fantastic opportunity and will continue to explore further innovative opportunities for collaboration.”

By diverting the engineered timber from landfill, BINGO is able to abate 49,000 tonnes of CO2 per annum, which is equivalent to taking about 10,904 cars off the road every year.

The recovered engineered timber products produced from this process can be recycled again.
