BINGO has been recognised as a Skilled Mental Health First Aid Workplace by Mental Health First Aid Australia.
The recognition is awarded to organisations across Australia that invest in developing mental health first aid skills in their people. It encourages organisations to strive for a long-term commitment to positive change in mental health literacy and action.
To qualify for the accreditation, a certain number of a company’s workforce needs to have undertaken the Mental Health First Aider training. At BINGO, we have trained more than 50 people to date, and that number will grow as we look to make more training available next year.
“I’m very glad to see us getting recognised for our commitment to employee wellbeing and how we are creating a mentally healthier and supportive workplace,” said Shadi Faraj, Head of Training, Capability and Performance.
“We have committed to executing a strategy that ensures we have the support from our leadership group in creating a mentally safe workplace.
“This includes training and access to mental health first aiders across our sites, developing and implementing a strategy, and continuous development for our mental health first aiders.
“Thanks to all our GOgetters who have completed their training this year. The more people we have trained in mental health, the better equipped we are to recognise, respond to and support individuals experiencing mental health problems.”

SAFE TALK training wraps up
We also wrapped up our SAFE TALK training about suicide alertness in November. Three sessions were held, attended by 40 GOgetters. It was another important initiative that supports us creating a safer and mentally healthier workplace.
