Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

I'm 28 years old, I recently made a career change from childcare educator to truck driver. I enjoy being able to spend time with my family and friends and BINGO provides that flexibility.

Why did you choose this career path?

I wanted a change in my career as I had lost motivation and needed a challenge, my dad who also works for BINGO encouraged me to get my HR licence and apply with BINGO.

What’s a day in the life of a BINGO truck operator like?

Everyday is a different scenario, it’s not just delivering bins. You’re faced with different challenges at each job, you meet new people along the way and at the end of the day I feel satisfied with the jobs that I have accomplished.

How long did it take you to complete your HC license?

I have my HR license, I previously had my LR licence. I did a knowledge and driving test to upgrade to my HR within 12 months so I only had to do a 1 day test with a driving instructor. Simple!

Do you enjoy your role? What do you like about it?

Yes I do, I enjoy being in the outdoors and meeting new people along the way. Whether it may be on a job site or another BINGO site but mostly I enjoy the people I work with from the allocators to other drivers.

What’s it like working in a male-dominated industry?

I personally really enjoy it, BINGO has put a lot of procedures in place to support the female workers which makes me feel safe.
