BINGO is thrilled have been awarded the Sustainability Initiative of the Year award for MPC2 at the Inside Construction Foundation Awards 2023.
BINGO’s state-of-the-art recycling facility MPC2 in Eastern Creek is helping us achieve industry leading waste recovery rates and enabling more diversion of waste from landfill.
It’s fitted with some of the world’s most advanced resource recovery technology, and the plant is capable of processing approximately 1.5 million tonnes per annum and up to 7,000 tonnes of inert B&D and C&I material daily.
MPC2 is situated in BINGO’s Eastern Creek Recycling Ecology Park in Western Sydney, and plays a key role in capturing recoverable materials and diverting from landfill. It’s making a positive impact aligned with the objectives of a circular economy - resources are circulated, waste is eliminated, and nature is regenerated.
MPC2 and the broader Eastern Creek Recycling Ecology Park supports and encourages the opportunity to reuse or repurpose materials by increasing its commodity value, and therefore reducing reliance on virgin natural materials and ultimately preserving natural reserves.
MPC2 is currently achieving up to 80% diversion rates and the number is expected to increase in the coming year. MPC2 plays an integral role in helping us close the resources loop by allowing more materials to be circulated back into the economy, aligned with BINGO’s vision of a waste free Australia.
