Hawthorn Hawks Supporter Wins $20K In KickIt2WinIt Competition!

Could you be the next winner?

Imagine the scene: you’re at Australia’s home of football, the MCG, steadying yourself to make a kick in front of a cheering crowd of more than 25,000 people. Everything comes down to just how precisely your boot can connect with that yellow Sherrin. It’s a scenario that AFL players experience every week of the season but for the rest of us, it remains a daunting challenge.

20K on the line

When Hawthorn supporter Rodney lined up to take his kick last Saturday, June 16, he stood to win a whopping $20,000, donated by Bingo Industries as proud sponsors of the Hawthorn Hawks. To win the $20K, Rodney would need to kick the footy a distance of 25-metres and land it squarely in a Bingo bin in the middle of the MCG.

Pressure

It was quarter-time in the game against the Adelaide Crows and the Hawks were ahead. Could Rodney follow their winning streak with a victory of his own? The prize amount had already jackpotted once, so the pressure was really on.

Rodney had spent the morning practicing his kicking skills with daughter Olivia and for extra luck, had even visited the Hawks’ homeground.

Determination

As the moment drew near, he was a picture of concentration, sizing up the Bingo bin with great determination. He took a short run up, dropped the ball and… planted it right down the middle.

Score!

After celebrating his win, an elated Rodney revealed that he planned to put his prize money towards a family holiday and the construction of a new home.
