Maintenance works on Monday 3 March

BINGO wishes to inform residents and neighbours adjacent to our Eastern Creek Recycling Ecology Park, that maintenance works related to the leachate riser will take place on Monday 3 March.

These works are required to remove and replace the leachate riser pump and motor, to optimise leachate removal from the landfill. We are aiming to have the pump replacement work, including all associated mechanical and electrical works, completed by close of business on the same day.

Further checks, including commissioning and level sensor calibrations will be carried out on Tuesday 4 March.

What is BINGO doing to prevent odour during the works?

We do not expect odour in connection with these works. The landfill gas extraction and treatment system will continue to operate and be monitored throughout and as a precaution a deodoriser will be used as an additional control for the duration of the works, to supplement our existing odour prevention measures.

Why are the works needed?

The maintenance works are necessary to manage the leachate removal from the landfill.

What should I do if I have an issue?

If community members have any concerns, please call BINGO’s environmental hotline on 02 6946 4555  or contact us
