    Update on Eastern Creek Works

    Our Eastern Creek facility has reached a major milestone. 

    The Eastern Creek Power Generation Plant is nearing completion and over the next few weeks we will start commissioning 4 engines that will combust landfill gas and turn it into renewable electricity. 

    The commissioning  of the 4 new engines will commence on Monday 19 May 2025. The final engine will be turned on Monday 26 May by which time all gas extracted from the landfill will be directed to the power plant to generate electricity.

    The plant is expected to generate 4MW per year of renewable energy – enough to power approximately 7,000 homes. This is a major achievement in Bingo's journey to sustainably manage landfill gas extracted from the landfill for a beneficial use.

    The existing flares will all remain on site as back up for the power generation plant to ensure landfill gas is being managed at all times including during maintenance of the power plant.
